Redditch Business Improvement District is set to host its first-ever Festive Feast, a five-day food and drinks event designed to help the local community see in the Christmas period.
Running from Wednesday 17th November until Sunday 21st November, the Festive Feast will bring together a wide range of flavours from around the world for visitors to sample. Hot items, including mince pies and mulled wine, will be available for purchase, as well as a range of takeaway cold food options. Open for visitors from 10am-6pm Wednesday-Saturday and from 10am-5pm on the Sunday, this five-day event will take place on the Church Green in Redditch Town Centre and is hosted in partnership with the market events experts RR Events.
Visitors attending the market on the Saturday will additionally be able to enjoy a 3-hour-long Christmas extravaganza show. Organised with the support of POP-UP Entertainment, this one-off event will feature performances from a range of local talent and is intended to bring the magic of Christmas to the whole family.
BID manager, Muj Rahman, said of the event: “We are incredibly excited to announce and soon host our first-ever Festive Feast event. Christmas last year was a challenging time for many, not least because so many of our festive celebrations were disrupted or altogether cancelled. In light of this, all of us at the BID wanted to be able to offer the local community an event that could help bring people together and build anticipation for the Christmas period.
“Food and drink are so central to the way that we celebrate special occasions or to the way that we socialise with others, so it is wonderful to be able to offer Redditch locals the space to come together, socialise and just soak up the festive atmosphere. The opportunity to showcase all the delicious cuisines that we have available in Redditch is also a great way of celebrating how multicultural our local community is, as well as the wonderful food producers that we have in the area. The event really gets to the heart of what we are about at Redditch BID, which is about celebrating all that Redditch and its people has to offer. I for one cannot wait to see everybody there.”
Redditch BID is tasked with raising the profile of the town and its businesses by improving the local trading environment. Through championing the needs of local businesses, the BID aims to spearhead a campaign which will promote Redditch’s local economy and highlight the town itself as a prime business destination.
