A pop-up beach arrives in Redditch town centre for three days this July as part of Beach on the Green
– a unique, free event bringing seaside fun and joy for everyone.

The beach will be in front of Redditch library from Friday 21st July to Sunday 23rd July, and forms the centre piece to a range of seaside themed entertainment and experiences taking place on and
around the town green.

Visitors to the beach will be able to relax in one of the many deck chairs provided, play with the
beach balls rolling around, dig with the spades supplied or build sandcastles with the buckets left for
everyone to enjoy. People will also be able relax in a giant deck chair, pose for photographs in the
cut-out boards, or simply soak up the beach vibes while spreading their toes through the sand.
In addition to the main attraction, families and friends will have the opportunity to enjoy all sorts of
outdoor summer fun, including music, creative performances, and plenty of choices for food and
drink, as well as supporting local traders.

“We’re thrilled to bring this unique event to Redditch town centre,” said Muj Rahman, Redditch BID
Manager. “We’re committed to creating a positive environment for businesses and residents in the
town, and this event is just another exciting way in which we’re doing that.”

The pop-up beach is free to visit, and visitors can access it from 10am to 5pm each day.
“We’re excited to be part of creating a vibrant town centre and building a sense of community, which
celebrates all cultures and creativity,” said Reimagine Redditch Programme Director, Richard
Bromhall. “Events like these are a great way to bring people together. We’re looking forward to
seeing everyone having great fun.”

Beach on the Green has been organised by Redditch BID in association with Reimagine Redditch, and
Batchley Support Group. This latest event is one of many exciting initiatives that Redditch BID has
planned to promote the town centre as a vibrant and bustling destination for people looking to have
fun and shop. The partnership with Reimagine Redditch and Batchley Support Group is part of a
wider effort to bring the community together and promote local businesses.

Redditch BID, which represents the businesses in Redditch town centre, is keen to organise different
events throughout the year, to promote and enhance the image of our town and bring together the
whole community.
